What each one does well
- Smoke Free is one of the most studied consumer quit apps, and UK councils offer its premium version free to residents.
- QuitNow! has a large, long-running community of ex-smokers.
- Kwit makes progress feel like a game, with a CBT-inspired approach.
- Flamy lets you taper instead of stopping on a set day, which suits some people.
- QuitSure packs a structured programme into six days, and is built for vaping as well as smoking.
- Outside apps: in the UK, NHS Quit Smoking is a free 28-day programme from the Department of Health, and in the US quitSTART comes free from the National Cancer Institute. Also in the US, This is Quitting (Truth Initiative) is a free text-message programme for quitting vapes with strong trial results. In Malaysia, ask about mQuit quit services at government clinics and hospitals.
Where Quitterly is different
- Built for vapes and pouches, not just cigarettes. Most quit apps we looked at are written for smokers.
- A step-down plan, not just a tracker. Many apps log your gum; Quitterly plans how it comes down, at your pace, and never above your pack's limit.
- Made in Malaysia, in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
Whatever you choose, use something
Apps, your doctor, a pharmacist, a quitline, a friend who checks in. Support makes quitting more likely, and the best support is the one you'll actually use. If Quitterly isn't your thing, we're still rooting for you.
